breasts too high and unproportional
I'd love to hear you say that to your future girlfriends! "No! You're doing it wrong!"

Hey, it's fictional! So if we can make them perfect, why not?

LOL! Thanks for the advice guys... I hope I can become better/faster at doing these animations as this is taking quite a bit of time :/ -Pickle

Did I mention that I suck at animation I decided to scrap my last attempt, and start over... I agree that the swinging arm is a bit too much, and I've opted for a toned down version with a bit of breathing in between... Should have a screen shot up tonight -Pickle

One dimensional (perlin) noise is an great way to make things look 'alive'. Obviously you cannot draw perlin noise, but maybe you can generate 'art' by stitching together limbs in realtime.

A friend of mine suggested I do that... and I'm stubborn, so I figured I'd try sketching the animations again lol. Here's the latest of what I've got. I think it'll look alright after a little polishing. -Pickle

I dunno, now it looks really strange. There is a lot of movement for an standing still animation, and boobs dont go up and down when breathing. Not that i could do it better.
why dont you make the char 2d (face to the right) and work from there? Maplestory got some nice characters, but they are deformed.

Really? I found it cool, as long as you don't repeat the arm swing animation too often Also, i'm amazed by the body size. It's perfect right now (inb4 Riven).

Yeah, my wife pointed out that the breathing looked off... It's not that the boobs don't move, it's that the shoulders are moving too much ( she proved it to me... ). I'll post a cleaned up copy later and add clothing so Riven doesn't get mad at me I dunno, now it looks really strange. Thanks Rorkien This .gif just shows everything... programatically I plan on having a longer delay between "hand on hip" pose, and the basic pose. -Pickle

What about a tiny bit of sway, just a few pixels, so it seems less static

That's a pretty good idea, and I'll probably add that in later. Right now I'm just trying to polish the animation so I can move onto run/jump/attack...etc. I wonder if bikini is safe for work.... drawing clothes adds so much more time to the animation -Pickle

Why don't you use your existing drawings and add clothes onto them? That will make it much easier.

That's what I would plan on doing... but a bikini is merely three triangles lol... I guess I'm just lazy -Pickle

I think the legs are ok... but I'm pretty sure I made the thigh too short, and the calfs too long.... I'll try to fix them later if I have time -_- Here's my proportions along side those at Learn-to-draw.com Thanks for the feed back though, I really appreciate it! -Pickle

Doesn't that prove his point? The legs seem too long because the torso is too short (by half a head height).

Yeah... I wasn't saying he was wrong I guess the question is... are the legs bad enough to spend the time? I was hoping to move onto the next animation soon, but if it's noticeable (like the previous idle animation sketch), I'll spend more time on it to get them to a better point. What are your guys thoughts? -Pickle

What are your guys thoughts? -Pickle The legs aren't bad. They look too long because the torso is too short and she is standing on her toes instead of flat-footed. Fix those two things and see how it looks. Better to perfect your base drawing now than to change your mind later and have to redraw everything (including non-character designs.)

I tried making the torso longer, and the legs shorter... I don't think it looks right though lol. I do agree that the feet needed to change... It's especially evident when she's standing on the tiles. -Pickle

First of all: I can't draw a t all... not at the computer I really think it looks better now. One thing I'd like to see changed are the hands. I don't walk around with my hands like that, but I'm not a girl so... Anyways. It would be good to have the hands like in your post in the image from learn-to-draw.com (Personally I think the "girl" from learn-to-draw looks too male... It has too much ... lines?)
