There seems to be a little confusion as to how you register your game to be judged in the Java 4k Game Programming contest, so I'm hoping to clear this up Wink. As my main page says, you need to post the information of your game (at least an URL, obviously) at one of these two forum posts:

It's more likely that I will notice your game first on these forums, but you may want to post on java.sun.com also so readers there can notify me if I've skipped over your game.

The Games List is updated every weekend (on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

As the deadline for the contest approaches, you need to make sure that I have added your game to the list! The list will serve a convenience for judges so they won't have to dig through the forum posts themselves. If your game does not appear on the list by February 27th, you need to contact me (email, PM, IM, whatever). February 27th is the last Sunday before the end of the contest, which is the 28th. Forum posts that have post dates that are after February 27th EST will not be accepted for this year's contest. February 28th is the day I'll be going through my e-mail for games that I have skipped (which I hope is none Smiley). As far as I know the judges will start working on the games on March 1st (someone want to verify this?).

Speaking of which, if someone wants to start a poll (mlk!!) for who should be on the judge team, you might want to go ahead and post that Wink

Happy coding! Cheesy

Thanks for posting this for everyone Woogley. That should help stave off the inevitable 500th thread of "where do I submit my entry?" ;-)

So, when can I expect Robotron 4096 to show up on the games page?

lol.. my bad, it looks like I skipped your game! Ironically it was the first one that should've been on last week's update. Thanks for pointing that out, it will be on this weekend's update Smiley

Game list updated (now with 33 games!). I apologize for the late update, I had the flu this weekend so I obviously couldn't get around to it on time Tongue

Very good work, woogley. I'm impressed by the fact that you seem to put an equal effort (screens, etc) into all entries, no matter if they're good or not - I'd never have expected screenies for my entries Smiley

One thing, though - Fetrisk isn't just a simplified version of Tetris; I personally think it's harder puzzle-wise, because the positioning is even more important in order to reach points, while in Tetris speed is the big matter. Also, Tetris' line-removing-concept is simpler than the chunk-removing, in my opinion - the big difference is the multitude of shapes in Tetris. And, of course, Tetris is a much better game, but we all knew that Smiley

Thanks,
Morre

And I see you've updated the description as well... I didn't mean for you to say "This is quite different from Tetris", though... I just didn't want people to think it was just a simplified version Smiley
Oh well, it's fine, although the technical stuff isn't that interesting... Wink

Puzzle Balls is finished, with two players mode included.
(The sound did not fit in).
Can you put it in the list?

the game will appear in the next list update (it takes some work to update that list, can't just update it when one game shows up at a time Wink). Be sure to post your game in the J4K threads as well.

Just a reminder: tomorrow is the last day to submit a 4K game! You can expect a Games List update a little later tonight. I will be updating again on the 28th for any games that are submitted on the 27th. Games submitted after February 27th will not be accepted!

I ask that all participants check the Games List tonight and make sure that your game is on there. If it's not on there and you posted it on the J4K threads, please let me know asap! E-mail, PM, IM, a reply to this thread, whatever!

Thanks Smiley

The 2004-2005 Java 4K Game Programming Contest ended with a total of 46 games! Check them out at http://woogley.net/games.html

Great games, everyone! I will have the judges' results by March 8th. Good Luck, everyone!

Depending on if William Deniss talks to me within 24 hours, there might actually be 47 games (he has a deadline exemption because of me skipping a post of his in the J4K thread)
