I know java fairly well and was wondering if anyone can point me to some nice tutorials about game programming in java.

pff 11 years old... at that age I only programmed text games on my casio PB-100.

Really, you should NOT be advertising your age if you're that young.

Unless you're actually an FBI agent trolling for some perps then by all means go ahead.

But I think most of us  here started at a young age; in fact I think I was smarter back then than I am now so good luck.

Welcome my friend.

I wrote my first game when I was 8.  (it was text and on a desktop programmable calculator) so your age doesn't bother me any!

The big thing is not to get head of yourself.  You've got a lot to learn but plenty of time to learn it.  You want to start with something simple.  If you've written a few java programs before then  you are probably ready to tackle something *simple* and graphical.  Think about old 2D arcade games.. asteroids, pacman, that sort of thing.  They make great first graphical projects.
