I thought I would post on my latest project and see if I can get some feedback.

I've created an application that allows a user to drag and drop files which auto cleans it's file name and sorts it depending on it's file type.

The application is quite new so it's in beta and no installer yet (its an executable jar file).

The website is www.renameandsort.com

Download: RaS

For those who think this application is handy Smiley, the crowdfunding page: http://www.indiegogo.com/Automatic-rename-and-sort-files-application

Any feedback would be great.

Was a pleasure. Add CDDB support and automatic ID3-Tag correction to the feature list and I am a happy chap.

I could add some metadata writing support. Say if the metadata is missing from a music file then it could look it up online and then write it back into the metadata. Then could give a right click menu option if the user wants to force looking up the music file online. I'll put it down on my list to do.

If you add metadata support, then make sure the user can do it themselves not just have the program look it up.

Actually there are some good metadata editors out there. I wouldn't mind if the metadata support just does automatic lookup. There should be an option to turn it off, though.

Yeah didn't really want to go into editing the metadata so much. I want to keep the application easy and simple to use. But I'll see when I start adding in the feature.

so this is "only" for media files I assume

I also like how, in your video, you show your collection of pirated stuff as an example =D

Hehe, the video collection was on our network. We have the biggest pirate in our flat and I do all my testing on his collection Smiley

Currently for videos, music and jpegs. This will expand over time. I was looking into PDF for the next version but wasn't as simple as I hoped.
