I just spotted this helpful tool...

"Interactive profile data viewer for Java programs. Reads files output by the '-hprof' and '-prof' Java profile utilities."

It only works on windows Sad  , at least that is the only OpenGL binding they have.  They use OpenGL to make a fancy 3D graph.
