During the last time, the forums appear VERY slow to me. Anybody else observed that?
Is there a performance problem somewhere?

Do you mean the server seems slow or your computer seems slow?

I saw a couple of the Resources Exceeded messages the other day, but other than that I've had no problems with the server.

The client however is a different matter.  I don't know why, but that new animated GIF really kills my computer.  I've been getting 1-2 second pauses when switching windows and impossibly jerky scrolling, which means it takes me ages to open lots of new windows and I can't really scroll using the mouse any more. :-/

I suppose it's got almost no delay between frames, or is updating the whole GIF each frame, or maybe it's just a huge animation?  I don't know.  I figured it was probably only my computer that's having problems with it though.

No, my maschine behaves very normal.

Just when accessing a certain forum, I get the head of the page (including the gif) quickly. But then it takes up to a minute until the forums content appears. No CPU, no network load during that time.

Observed again, also the head isn't really quick. And no, it's not my internet connection.

It seems the server needs much time to get the stuff together for me.

Oh, we're waiting.  We're just not sure what we're waiting for...  Please forgive me if I seem suspicious and lack faith -  it's just that I've seen it all before.  Hopefully this time it'll be different.
If what you're hinting about for JavaONE this year is a presentation entitled "2003: The Year of the Games", expect us to be royally miffed! Grin

I think Chris may be implying that the JavaGaming.org site will be getting an upgrade -- probably all part of the upcoming big announcement that he keeps teasing us with... Wink

So does this mean that the board will be renamed "2003: The Year of the Games"?
