(WinME, PIII 750MHz, 8MB S3 Savage/IX-MV, 128MB RAM, 1.4.2 WebStart from IE5.5.) One word: fantastic! It didn't like my computer much - flashed like hell at first, but fiddling with anti-aliasing helped a bit. The console window kept flashing to the front as well, with "system lagging" messages scrolling by. I don't know whether it was supposed to be full-screen, but on my laptop it occupied about an 800x600 area in the top left of the screen. Also, it drew outside of these bounds, leaving coloured spheres all over my desktop after I'd quit! But that's just my computer, really. Just the right speed I think, satisfying destruction animations, intuitive play, very well-suited sound effects. I especially like the way there's two ways to kill the enemies - the non-obvious and more difficult way having an advantage that just going in guns blazing doesn't have. I definitely recommend dropping Jeff a line, as he's after some Java games to show off.

My best score so far: 3849Anyone do any better? Suggestion: award an extra life every 1000 points or so? The bacteria get a bit suicidal after a while, and a few more lives would come in very handy!

Nice game! Yet another proof that a game dosen't need a multi million budget to be entertaining. It crashed the first time I ran it, but worked just fine the second time. Java webstart didn't work on mozilla for me, it tells me to install java webstart eventhough I have it installed allready, so I had to run it using the evil internet explorer . I guess there's some problem with the detection code. And yeah, a bonus life every thousand points would be nice!

Thanks for the feedback!
There's a new version up with extra lives (at 1000 points + 1000 for each life gained). I was thinking of possibly throwing together a high-score server for the game too.

Really nice use of audio! I think I may show it at Frag fest at Sun friday for that reason alone. Although as others point out its ALSO a great example of how good gameplay does not really require fancy graphics

Just tried again, glad you got the extra-life system in there - much better. Got a lot further this time as well, love the fast firing bad guys, they were a nice surprise! One minor bug - two red blood cells (?) must have collided at speed, as they stuck together. I had to ram them to break them up. I guess once the centre of one item is inside a second one the collision detection code can make them continually move towards each other? Minor issue though, probably not worth worrying about. 19123 points

Webstart version didn't work properly, got a red screen, but nothing else. 2nd time i tried it, I got a red/black flashing screen. (pageflipping between red and black i bet)
Jar version worked fine though.

What's happened to this game? The link is currently broken... Sigh, I'm too sleepy. The author had actually already sent me the correct link and details, but I've been waiting for them to fix the webstart version (it keeps displaying the XML file instead of starting webstart, apparently that classic MIME type problem again) http://catluck.com/lymph/webstart.html - note there is NO jnlp link on this page, you have to view source to find it! Hopefully we'll get a working JNLP link soon...

If their server is sending you duff mimes, all you have to do is save the file as a .jnlp on your local disk and then double click it. Cas
