I was going to lock this, but thought it over.
Maybe I'm just too grumpy, but I don't get what you wanted to achieve with that.

CyanPrime has been banned for 60 days. Another 30 days will be added for every account created by him.
For anybody wondering why I'm being so harsh in this particular case, well, while m77 was rather rude when his buttons were pushed, he had the right intentions.
CyanPrime's sole goal was to insult, and given his track record, I felt we're better off this way. You're welcome to come back in 2 months.

You can browse his posts. I'm not going to discuss it, because CyanPrime can't defend himself for obvious reasons.

It really wasn't the first time, and you could have figured that out by actually reading his older posts...
Can't you please put some effort into it, before you second guess me?

All his posts are help questions....this was his first "out of character" post. Oh well.... I don't notice anything bad either, going through his posts. I do not think I am the only one being slightly interested in what happended here, and what I'm supposed to think of CyanPrime. I mean, for me it could have been anything, which in my eyes are the worst imaginable situation. Please remember that he posted this himself, in the thought that it was appropiate to see daylight. I don't think we should censure out completely what happended here. We can be enlightened and objective, without neccesarily speaking bad about a member. EDIT: The only thing I see negative in his history, is a post from 2009 that talks about the direction the community was going at the time.

Riven, I would never second guess you, I just didn't notice anything bad at all about any of his posts in the past. This is why I am agreeing with Cero that he doesn't have any bad track record at all, just a bunch of OpenGL posts.

I do not think I am the only one being slightly interested in what happended here, and what I'm supposed to think of CyanPrime. I mean, for me it could have been anything, which in my eyes are the worst imaginable situation. The entire point of moderation is to not expose the community to idiotic behavior. Please remember that he posted this himself, in the thought that it was appropiate to see daylight. I don't think we should censure out completely what happended here. This is your assumption, some people don't check whether what they write is appropriate, they just want to insult people. We can be enlightened and objective, without neccesarily speaking bad about a member.
Nothing to be enlightened about, but well, to end this for once and for all, he recorded himself insulting us and posting the link to the audio stream.

Was a reason provided for the stream, if one may ask? It does sound rather idiotic.

He posted it because he was 'so thankful for all the feedback of the community of JGO' or whatever it was.

well there is no point in having admins and mods if they can't do shit without people crying out immediately
so whatever it was, I'm sure Riven did the right thing. the end.

To the people who don't remember how CyanPrim often behaved, these are all in my own opinion, so it should reflect nothing on Riven, JGO, or moderation in general.
1. CyanPrime would go in and out of activity on the forum. When coming back, he'd often ask for help with other languages or on games in other languages 2. When receiving criticism, he would react negatively 3. He would get angry when very few people would critique or give feedback on his work, often acting high-and-mighty as if he deserves all of our time
And then the message that has been moderated was a variation of "Go f*** yourself" very loudly with a very scratchy mic.
My guess is that since he hasn't been present recently, he's become angry with our disregard for his works, or something like that.

lhkbob sums it up pretty accurately imo. Yeah, and I heard the message too, luckily my kid was not present at the time. No criticism should be directed at Riven, if anything he is being generous only dishing out 60 days.

Riven has done a huge amount of work for this site. He clearly cares about JGO and he's entrusted to moderate it so unless there's a really good reason to doubt him, let's not, eh?
