2D Dungeon Game Alpha



Hi! I'm here with a small Roguelike I've made, done with LibGDX and pure Java:


It's a "classic" 2D Roguelike with permadeath, monsters and simple objective: find an exit for next level.

These cute and bubbly sprites in this moody atmosphere reminds me of a style similar to that of orangepascal's games. Looks quite promising, it'd be interesting to see where you take this.

You could use the html5 export functionality of libgdx to embed your game into your website,
which would decrease the entry barrier so that you get a higher play-count and more feedback Wink

The menu item selection is not aligning with the position of the mouse pointer (selection still works but is irritating)
Movement feels a bit too fast when walking diagonally;
You might want to test out some variation in movement speed and acceleration.
The art style is nice especially on the player character and i like the effects.

On the main menu, the outlines around m and the parenthesis are incomplete, your logo is blurry, and the mouse coords are off.  Actually the coords are off in the coop menu as well.  
Controls are odd in that while moving up or down, you can add right or left to move diagonal, if you are moving right or left and add up or down you can not, is that intentional? I didn't try a controller.  

The game runs smoothly and looks good, no idea of fps.

Great start though, keep at it.

i7 @ 3.4GHz 16gb, W7 64 SP1, AMD 7800

p.s. on your website the tutorials link is a 404.

New Version available as a Download because the Applet not work right now.

I think the Movement is still a bit weird but I hope I could fix this later.

The menu works perfectly now, the movement is still quite twitchy but that's just my taste.
The frame seems to try to go fullscreen but doesn't succeed to do so, it reverts to a smaller windowed version, is that meant to be?
(I'm using a 1680x1050 monitor, fullscreen with LibGDX was tested and works)

Yeah that is meant to be, because the standard resolution is fullscreen and then the game switch to 1080x720 but not fullscreen.Soon you can change the Resolution in the Options Menu, I will try to implement that tomorrow, but thanks again for Feedback my friend Smiley

So hi Guys i fixed the Bug that you can go to the next Level without killing an Enemy or collecting Chests or Items.Another new Feature is that is designed the Menus new and there is now also a Co-Op Menu for the Multiplayer Mode that begin soon.Hope you Guys like it and please give Feedback.

My 2 cents: it wasn't a bug. Why shouldn't I go to the next level if I sneak past your boss? Maybe I'm not interested in your loot either...

I think bypassing the boss should be a feature, but quite possibly I may need some of the items or experience that I missed from the previous level in the next level... Also, maybe the boss will come after me in the next level, so while you can sneak, there will be a day of reckoning Smiley

Oh Okay, I think I will make it that you can pass the Boss and go to the next Level but it can be possible that you need a Key in the next Level for a Door or a Chest or something, that you only get when you kill the Boss Smiley

Hi Guys I coded the whole Day and implement some new Features, which are listed down Smiley

I thought that the game is boring, but...
When I try it, I could not stop. I stopped only when ammo ended  Grin

You really 17 years old? Cheesy

EDIT:
About game:
Game runs smoothly, no huge bugs, but here is some bugs with shooting(when you shoot, bullet stops near you).


Here bullet is not flying, she stopped here.


Also movement is little buggy.

When the Ammo is empty, you just press E and then the Shop appears where you can trade Coins for Ammo.
That is not a Bullet, it is a Flamethrower but there spawns a Bullet and not move so there is the "Bug".
And the Player movement is always weird, I try to fix it tomorrow.
Soon there comes a lot of game Content, this is just a beginning Smiley

EDIT: And Yes I'm only 17 Years old Cheesy

those images used (the rocko, the purple character, etc) are not freeware

use them as a basis to create your own by modifying them Wink

Yeah I changed it back.Because I don't know how I could handle that, if you can exit the level without killing an Enemy you could miss something but if you must to kill all Enemies to entry the next Level that would be annoying Smiley

Hi Guys was now on Vacation in Italy for one Week and working again on my Game.Currently Implementing some basic Multiplayer Test, Potions, something like User Verification, Inventory and more Mobs.Hope the next Release gets good.Ah and a new Website for the Game goes Online today or tomorrow, hope you will like it Smiley
