What's wrong with the above image of a duke holding a stick? I see that as a weight (not sure if that's the appropiate term). It's standard in SMF, and it's so boring compared the the duke we have in the logo.  |

Gah... back to the drawing board.
EDIT: Did you try the normal image for unread, and a gray scale version of the image for read. That's kind of what it looks like the current image does.

Size is fine, but I don't recommend decreased opacity on the "has new posts" icon, might work confusing.
