A Ludum Dare game, basically just a quick copy / improvement of a game I already made years ago. I didn't have the full 48 hours so I figured this made sense to do.

You are a lone hero in a never-ending dungeon trying to stave off the forces of evil. You can't win, it just goes on forever. The gameplay is very simple, just click where you want to move. If there is a monster in your way, you'll attack it, if there is an item you'll pick it up. Get to the exit in the bottom right. When fighting the boss, wait for a potion to spawn in order to increase your health and make it possible.

Play here (applet): http://www.otcsw.com/applet/DreadMaze/

On Mac because applets suck, just download the JAR and run that: http://www.otcsw.com/applet/DreadMaze/DreadMaze2.jar

The bar is the life, it worked as intended for me (applet). I came to lvl 8 or 9 or so (had a lvl 8 sword and shield) but then I couldn't get further because the camera refused to move all the way down so I could get to the last row. I had a similar issue on the level before but then I could at least click on the little I saw of the lowest row.

I had the same problem as Mike. I found the game fun, but the repetition of levels killed it in lvl 7 aprox. Anyway, it's a good job for only 48 hours :-)
