Here's a screenshot of what I've been working on today Smiley

I've also begun making a frame-interpolation system for the player animations. I'll get that finished and release the next demo Smiley

There is food in the scene, because this is a kitchen design I started Smiley

Here's another screenshot depicting a new color change for the soldier:

I'm not quite sure which one I should go with. I personally like the darker one. Thoughts?

I agree with @Cero, the darker one looks more like the real toys, as much as i remember.

My artist made some neat-o pickup crates!

I've changed the player color slightly. It is a little less blue, and little more green; still however, it is a darker shade Smiley

It looks great, but before downloading, I'd like to know whether you've fixed the OS X bug, just because the download is large for me.

I haven't confirmed if it works on macos yet. Most likely it has the same error as before.

My artist made a bunch more kitchen stuff today. Brand new textures, and a counter model. I decided to release the progress so far Smiley

The animation smoothing is still a little... dodgy...

Enjoy Smiley

I noticed that I had the wrong spawn location set. I have updated the file with the proper location.

I had the chance to test it on my MAC; I opened it directly from double clicking the jar. It ran perfectly fine Smiley

Well, unfortunately, it's not playable for me. First I found a bug when I input my name. Every character is inputted twice. Then the game is utter slow, only giving 1fps for me, but on windows it plays at constant 60fps.

Any Ideas?

Very odd... Does it yield the same result when run via console?
I'm getting a solid 60 fps/tickrate on my macbook pro.

Sorry for the late reply! Been quite busy lately, and haven't had a lot of time to work on my Java projects Smiley

I talked to TheAgentD about the performance. Your card is one of the weakest cards that can run the rendering engine (even my laptop GPU is better). So  as far as I know, there's not much I can do at the moment.

I read something today that made me think of this game. It would be brilliant if you could combine this game with the Microsoft Hololens (I know, even the Dev Kit is not out yet). Then the army men could do their thing in your actual living room.

http://www.tomsguide.com/us/hololens-mainstreams-augmented-reality,news-20346.html

Great thing is... MS have integrated hololens with Minecraft, so there is definitely some kind of Java interface for it. Thanks Notch!

That's a shame, I guess you dont deal with retro games a lot.
Recently watched Once Upon Atari which had a segment explaining all of the 3DO history actually.

Dont be a fool.
People in the VR business like Carmack and Abrash said augmented reality is way way way more complicated and farther away than VR.
It's not coming anywhere soon. And once it does Microsoft will not pioneer it... The company that still has bluescreens and every product the release is buggy and unfinished to meet deadlines ? nah.

How much RAM does your machine have?
In the batch file included, try raising the max amount of RAM if possible.

batch file:
1
java -Xmx1G -Xms1G -jar Game.jar

1G is the amount of RAM. If 1 does not work for you, raise to 2.
