Hi people, I started a new game named (for now) Archer Vs Zombies, I have a blog post dedicated to it (with videos, links to webstart, etc) here if you want to take a look at it. Sorry I didn't want to repeat all the blog post here. Hope you can take a look at it. Thanks!

Looks pretty nifty! The arrow physics are pretty, as well as the preciseness of their collisions with the rock. Did you use a physics SDK or your own?

The video look good. I like the overall look and physics.
One question about gameplay. What advantage would there be to aiming at something other than the nearest zombie that's advancing on your base?

I am using Box2D physics engine port provided by Libgdx. Btw, holding D key should show you the bounding boxes of the physics engine bodies.

Could you please release an applet or a normal desktop application (.jar file). I tend to avoid webstart applications since they clutter the add/remove programs list. But by judging from video this may end up pretty nice

You could for example shoot at some specific target to activate a trap, or you could aim to a specific enemy which gives you a power up that you will use then to kill the other enemies. Those are some ideas.

Yeah, sorry for that, I recorded the video with another version of the current released version of the game, I am making tests right now on how I should make the arrows stick on the ground and/or the enemies.

the way they stick to the ground on the video seems good Actually, once an arrow got in some sort of balance when falling to the ground and seemed like it was stuck to the ground

Odd, I only find a floating bow with a rock without zombie. Holding mouse button while aiming is kinda hard.

Game is on development, right now I have finished adding some "zombies" (no graphics, don't die, etc etc etc). Try it again, I have released the latest development version.

I just ended up playing 6 hours straight and completed it albeit with a very cramped hand.

Just tried the latest webstart. The arrows stick into the boulders (zombies) okay although there should be a minimal velocity before things 'stick'. A really slow shot should bounce off.
I need to drag-click every single shot and often I need to drag quite a ways off the screen. How do I shoot at a target a long distance away as fast as I can without wanting to kill my input device?!
The arrows slide along the grass a bit too well.

Indeed, I should try new controls, the current one is not intuitive and troublesome.

Well, I am working to improve bow control, I made a blog post about that and I will have a release version today with multiple type of controls implemented. Hope you could take a look, thanks.
