Evenin' all!

Here is my entry for this year's contest:

http://www.java4k.com/index.php?action=games&method=view&gid=402

It started out being a Defender/Asteroids mashup, and ended up being... well, what you see here!

This is the first game I've actually managed to finish for about 20 years!
I really enjoyed coding this one, the 4K limit forces you to Just Write The Damned GameTM, rather than getting bogged down in unimportant details.

Oh, I've included the source code, so people can laugh at my ineptitude  Grin

OH MY GOD GEOMETRY WARS IN 4K I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE!!

Great game! Played it for over 30 minutes! Tongue

EDIT: 1 suggestion, do turn on Anti-Aliasing, it would hurt my eyes a little bit less Grin

Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad you liked it!  Smiley

I did start out with anti-aliasing, but it was just too slow with the number of sprites on screen.

What's your best score? I've managed about 250,000, but I think I've tweaked the parameters since then...

Wow. Impressive. Too difficult for me, but I was never good at this kind of game.

A crossbreed between Omega Race and Geometry Wars ?

Really a very good shooter, with a great design, friendly controls and non stop action. Maybe a bit too hard ? But at least it is never boring.

My best score so far was 65 800. Be assured that your game will see me again to try to beat it.

Cheers for the great feedback - I wish I'd submitted it earlier so I could do something about that difficulty level! Ah well, there's always next year  Smiley

Anything over 60k is a good score, I can't get anywhere near to 250k now.

Nifty though for some reason my brain tells me the mouse buttons should be swapped.
