erik - this really rocks. http://www.cokeandcode.com/images/sf2.pngEverything played wonderfully, however I think there must be a bug because I needed to use more than one credit to complete the game Maybe I'm just getting old! Kev

I never even managed to complete it BTW, is that big black border as you see it on your machine too? The game should take up the complete screen.

Ah no, having completed SF2 many time on SNES, arcade and MAME I can tell you that black border is meant to be there for the ending scenes. The actual game fills the whole screen.

There's now a 3D version of the 3 current rendering modes. These 3D versions should create a 3D perspective view of the monitor screen of the emulated arcade. Maybe I'll add a complete model later, but for now it's just the screen. (Regular 'Fast-3D' mode) (Regular 'Fast-3D' mode) ('Scanlines-3D' mode) Enjoy :-) http://www.gagaplay.com

Thanks :-) Use the mouse to control arkanoid. Regarding black tiger, do you think this is also the case with normal, flat rendering? But yes, maybe the rounding is a little bit over the top btw, might want to do some censorship on the highscores... Yeah, I might have to add something on the server which will cross out profanities or something...

Okay, not the most technically challenging or popular games, but still worth a look. There's even some *really* old b/w white arcades added. The new games are: Mr. Goemon, Amazing Maze, Check Mate, Eyes, Ponpoko, Bank Panic, Van-Van Car, Mr. Jong, Crazy Blocks, Dream Shopper, Lizard Wizard and Radar Scope. http://www.gagaplay.com

JEmu2 doesnt seem to work with Mustang, snapshop 57 (latest). The javaw process is alive, nothing is displayed tho, not even the intial swing interface. Nothing is reported in the console and nothing on the output.txt.lck file either...

That's weird. It still works on b56 (locally, didn't try with jws).

I used to have b54 and it didnt work on that either via JWS, so I upgraded to b57 hoping that an exception is thrown or something...but nothing.

sounds like a JWS issue then. Thanks for letting me know, although I have no idea how to fix this. Other than that, 1.6 seems to be a real blessing for emulators. With the game I'm working on now, 1.6 snapshot 56 *client* is 25-30% faster than 1.4.2_03 *server*!

If there's nothing in the output, it crashes *very* early. There's only some simple swing stuff and loading of a text file happening before anything is outputted to the console...

I just tried the 1.6 vm with jws from java 1.5 and that seems to work fine... Whatever it is, it seems it's either jws 1.6 or something with your installation. Are you able to run other jws stuff?

Just tried ultratron, works fine too...

I just released a new version with support for 'Snow Bros. Nick & Tom'. Funny game, actually :-) Also, the MC68000 emulator has been replaced. Although Snow Bros. is perfectly playable, this new core is not all finished and has some compatibility problems, so you might experience some problems with SF2 (sometimes it reboots) and the occasional glitch in Snow Bros (very minor though). I will fix this ASAP...
I didn't obfuscate this version, so maybe it works with 1.6 now?

16 bit works fine as does CPS, and dam its fast! As soon as the app finished downloading, an instant later, the swing dialog was up for me to choose Snow Bros or SF2... Now just de-obfuscate 8bit games and we'l be good... DP

16 bit works fine as does CPS, and dam its fast! It is, isn't it? The new 68k core isn't fully compatible yet, but yeah, it's fast. Also using 1.6 helps a lot. I hope to be able to obfuscate again, though, if only to reduce the risk of cheating high scores.

This is seriously weird...
8bit still doesn't work while all the others do...Maybe its a JNLP file difference or something?

Weird... The only difference in the JNLP is that the 8bit games use lazy downloading. I'll remove the lazy download, and see how it goes. Lazy downloading doesn't work the way I initially hoped anyway...

Right...formated the pc n everything just to pay JEmu2 again Installed b59 (latest from time of download) and it was the lazy download. I left it for 10 or so minutes then it started up. 10 whole minutes! Lazy downloading isn't what I hoped it would be like... DP

Ah yeah, I forgot to take out lazy downloading. I will soon, there's now so many 8bit games that it takes too long...

But now they have reverted back to not working.(Adding higher than it should and displaying not numeric characters)

Yes I screwed up the BCD opcodes in the new cpu core. Right now it's of lower priority, though, since there are more serious problems in the cpu emulator which causes SF2 to reboot sometimes....

I just released a new version of JEmu2. Changes include: * Removed most CottAGE code from JEmu2. Most hw drivers were rewritten and the resulting code is much cleaner. * Added support for Jr. Pacman, Diamond Run (Boulder Dash clone on Ghosts 'n Goblins hardware), Pacman Plus and Zig Zag (a Dig Dug clone on Galaxians hardware). * Some performance improvements in rendering, resulting in a nice >50% speed increase in some games. * Sound in Space Invaders is fixed (loops were not playing). * Updated LWJGL to the latest version (which hopefully fixes some 'pixel format' errors) * Fixed brightness/contrast in the rendering of some hardware drivers. * Fixed Ghosts 'n Goblins driver to support Y-Scrolling and fixed the video glitches. * Numerous other fixes and enhancements.
Later I'll release the full source code.
BTW, I'm using 1.6 these days, and I'm bitten by some JWS bug which led me to remove the dns jar from the JRE to make it work. However, I'm not quite sure it will work for everyone, since there also seem to be other bugs plaguing JWS. For example, I had to restart JEmu2 more than once to make JWS download the new games. If you got the time, I would appreciate it if you could confirm if it still works and if not, what the problems are.
