Cut from being on the bleeding edge too long

No JSR has been listed yet in the JCP.  Note, that it is not the JOGL project because of the heavy dependency on AWT that JOGL requires.  A lot of this work will also be working on J2ME and embedded platforms, as well as working with OpenGL ES specification, which was also released today.

Programming is essentially a markup language surrounding mathematical formulae and thus, should not be patentable.

Mods, can we merge the three threads that have been started on this topic?

This is an interesting topic, and I'd hate to see discussions being fragmented.

For goodness sakes you'd think that they never heard of Class.forName()! Does the development community have to write the damn API to show them that you can do both at the same time? Does noone else know about factory design patters?

She builds, she builds oh man
When she links, she links I go crazy
Cause she looks like good code but she's really a hack
I think I'll run upstairs and grab a snack!
