Java games rock!

« Posted 2005-05-03 15:54:14 »

Hello all, here's my professional "sales pitch"

I am an industry veteran of 18 years, having worked on many award winning titles, such as the Elder Scrolls Series and Dark Age of Camelot. I'm experienced in all form of content creation, from pixel art, through  low and high polygon modeling, texture mapping, character design, animations and  level design.

I have shipped over 20 game titles, including numerous hits, widely recognized for excellence in artwork and animation, winning numerous awards. For over half that time I have worked freelance, and have in that capacity, consistently proved
that I'm able to deliver on time and to the highest quality.

My most recent projects have been for mobile devices such as N-gage (Shadowkey) and mobile phones (NHRA Drag Racing, and the Elder Scrolls "Travels" series), and much of my early game experience was with limited resolution games on 8 bit and 16 bit systems.

If you desire,  I have an online portfolio of more of my 2D pixel and 3D work at www.mjonesgraphics.com

Thank you for reading this!

Wow!!

VERY impressive work!  Excellent models, textures and sketches.

You worked on the original Arkanoid!!!

In some Indy gamming circles that qualifies you as a living legend!  There are hundreds of Ark clones and at least a new one released every week...practically every day.

I am humbled.

I am on a mission to develop my game from start to finish as a one man project (game engine, models, textures, music, sound, gui, story...everything).  Well, at least until my patience gives out and I start hiring or calling in favours Wink.

That said, I am not interested in hiring an artist at this time.

However...

I know a place where, if you haven't registered already... you must:  http://forums.indiegamer.com/  It's a high traffic forum for independent game companies and developers and it has a section specifically for posting services.

Mention you worked on graphics for Morrowind, DAoC, etc. and you'll start off at a very respectable status and probably get some contract offers... throw in that you worked on Arkanoid and you will be elevated to a living Ledgend.   Wink

Thanks for the tip Vorax! I'm planning on doing a lot more old school stuff, so if there are any others  who remember my work, give me a shout.

Mark.

That's great stuff you've got there. You ought to pop on over to the Indie Gamer forums and register there too.

Yeah, it's to stop spammers. But it's worth the wait. When you post in the "for hire" topic you have to wait for a mod to notice as well but it won't take long I hope.
