Just started a new MMOG beta.

Recommended minimum requirement: 2Gb RAM

Minimum?  Shocked

That's going to be the most sparsely populated game ever.

Apparently, Microsoft, EA, etc believes that serious gamers (all several million that play Doom3 etc) often have that much RAM or are happy to upgrade to it.

That's nuts. I hope you aren't talking about Vanguard: Saga of Heroes by Sigil Games (I know you are under NDA no matter which game it is, so don't bother confirming or denying) as I'm really looking forward to that game. I have 2GB, but I surely don't expect to play a game where that is the minimum. I can see it being the recommended amount, though, particularly with Unreal Engine 3 games around the corner..

NB: beta tests have higher min requirements than gold ones; optimize last, remember? Wink

...i.e. to the extent that other beta's I've been in have had min reqs that are much higher than the final gold game.
