Real-Time Java

« Posted 2005-04-03 11:15:10 »

In my search for the holy grail of
silky smooth video playback using
OpenGL in Java, I've decided to
give LWJGL 0.96 a try. I've been a
JOGL user :-)

I noticed there's a new AWTGLCanvas
class that lets me use LWJGL inside
AWT, but it is recommended that
the rendering be done on the
AWT thread. So my question is if
it is possible to use LWJGL inside
AWT *but* have rendering and
swap buffers managed by myself,
independent of any AWT threads?
Thanks in advance!
