Hi,

this is perhaps a stupid question, but I'll post it anyway Smiley

If I know the friction coefficeant Mu for a material i.e wood interacting with i.e steel, and I know Mu for glass interacting with steel, is it possible to somehow calculate Mu for when wood is interacting with glass?

I know that Mu is found experimentally, but perhaps there are some nifty calculus to solve this?

Sorry, that is not possible.

It would depend on so many things, smoothness and chemical properties and such.
