I use the command line CVS (requires linux, unix, cygwin, etc...).

You have to log in first using:

cvs -d :pserver:<your login>@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs login

Then you can do a checkout:

cvs -d :pserver:<your login>@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs checkout odejava
