(The title has to do with my off-time on-line handle, Cyberqat) Hey Guys, I apologize for my absence. Some big company silliness had me sitting somewhere from where I couldn't post  This is however finally fixed. I'm glad to see I'm no where near indeispensible and that you guys have carried on great without me. It really makes me feel great to know that JGO has the independant lifde of ist own that Chris and I hoped for when we strated this mess. Now I'm going to pull a Chris and tell you that the answer to "so where are you now in Sun" is an enigmatic smile and the promise that much goodness will be revealed at JavaOne  The important thing is that I can come back. Now i need to catch up on all the reading I've missed.... (reading was too painful when I was unable to post.) |

ROFLOL yeah in my copius free time.... I'd liek to get back to that and complete it some day, eally, but its gonna be after J1 as I've got a ton of work to do for that. (Good news is its all game related ) |

Well now that the dust has settled I can tell you that I am "finally" in a group where dealing with your issues is my job again.
By now I'm sure everyone has seen the press release about our new Game Technology group. Thats where I'm living. My official title now is Architect, Game Technologies in the Software Advanced Technologies Group (which is the group our Game Technology Group is part of.)
There will ofcourse be more details abotu what were doing and where we're going at the Game Summit at J1 next week. Once its all public I'll try to get either Chris or Myself to put details up here for those not able to attend.

While I definitely applaud Sun's moves - the announcement came a little late in the 'do I go to JavaOne this year' decision matrix  Will be interesting to see what you guys have in store as I've got money on the line now in both the J2ME and J2SE gaming spaces. Maybe now someone can also address the myriad bugs and documentation issues with the FullScreen API as well |

Thats Okay Greg. I promise I'kll post updates from the show.
Mostly this Summit is going to be announcements from us and demos/talks from third party developers. What actual goodies we are releasing (and there will be some) is already in a hidden spot online and as soon as the announcement happens I'll point you gusy where to look.

IT will be good enough if you tell me that Jd is not stalled because of Sun's gaming initiative.
J3d being stalled is a very bad news, and a proper 3d gaming api will certainly not replace it.
Anyway, congrats for your new positions to all.
