I'm glad Ken's spoken up on this - compared to cas et al he's practically silent Wink. Which is why I *really* want to get back to discussing how we can make a feature matrix comparison page for JOGL and LWJGL, which appropriate devs from each can update at leisure.

Otherwise it's going to be a permanent slagging match (because each camp has an out-of-date estimation of what the other is up to) or silence (because everyone knows they don't know enough to make any comparitive statements). Both are paralyzing to the mass of developers caught in the middle. Both catalyze and preserve inaccurate and unfair FUD simply because there's no easy way for people to disprove and dispel it.

I don't know where you heard that (if it was from me, I was wrong), but it is incorrect. We fixed JOGL's visual selection mechanism on X11 a long time ago.

As of today, this is no longer an issue. See

Sometimes, criticism leads to new features and fixes Smiley

...are two cases in point. Fairly major issues with each library that - because there's no sufficiently quick and easy way to check if they still exist - were believed to still be bad long after they were corrected.
