hi,

my webstart app crashes sometimes without writing anything to the cosole. sometimes right at the beginning of the game, sometimes while it's running, sometimes at the end. i have absolutely no idea what could be the reason. i'm wondering if someone has had a similar problem before.

could it be that webstart somehow suppresses stack traces? i don't think so ...

Is the console visible after the crash? Webstart usually closes the console when it exits or crashes. If so you can enable loging to file in the webstart preferences. You could also try openeing a Frame in the "outer catch" so that the app don't exit.

the game and console windows remain open. the game just stops responding to keyboard commands. it seems like i have some bug in the code, but then the problem would occur every time (which is not the case).

shame on me. the reason was an endless loop that was entered under some very special circumstances.

sorry for starting a new useless thread ... Embarrassed
