Why would libtool only create a static library?  Very frustrating.

This is with:
  • Gentoo Linux 1.4rc3
  • GCC 3.2.2
  • libtool 1.4.1

I'm using the latest from CVS, by doing

$ make clean
$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure --with-shared --with-prefix=$HOME/Library/LWJGL
$ make
$ make install

All I get is the .la file.

the make install option doesn't work correctly, yet. You can find the .so file in <lwjgl_cvs>/src/native/.libs.
