First off, i am COMPLEATLY new to Java, and have absolutly no knowlage of  Java.

If you would please post a link ( or group of links) to explain java.

There are plenty of topics already covering your inquiry. For differant articles, use google, preferably tutorials that use the helloworld application as an example.

If you search these forums as well you'll come up with a wealth of results.

If you are completely new, then you'll need the JDK to compile your programs. Goto suns website for all the info you need.

it did... a bit. i went to the web site, and i downloaded the thing it said to download, but it only gives me demos.
