London, UK. I've no idea if any pro game dev happens down here (out side the J2ME space), but the igda events are always nice & fun, so  I guess plent of none-java game dev is going on.

Washington D.C. a half a mile from the White House.

Bethesda Software (http://www.bethsoft.com/) is in Rockville Maryland 30 minutes from downtown DC, but that's the only game company I know of around here.  If you want to do graphics in Java you'll probaby be working on a military simulation - which is what I'm doing now.

Berlin, Germany - you know - the city that was split half a decade - You'll find it in any history book Grin If you want to know why - ask VaireMestUpPingwin (no offense mented - actually I think you shouldn't do jokes about it)
I don't know what kind of companies are around here, I'm going still to school Smiley And then I'll go to university - so lots of time to inform me of such things Smiley

Sevilla, Spain, now in our lovely summer with >43ºCelsius :p

The Gaming industry here is barely represented by Pyros, the makers of Commandos, we had Rebel Act, makers of the masterpiece Severance:Blade of Darkness, but they broke, there is some more movement atm, I'll stay tuned Wink. On the java scene... well, we have some Sun presence here (the director of Sun Microsystems Iberica gave a very interesting speech for the students some month ago) and i hope i'll find some more java activity before i finish my computer sciences degree, i'd love to work on java-graphics/gaming then (or can something be done to work for Sun?). But it seems that .net is eating us all at the etsii  Undecided, i'll stay on java, something in .net gives me the creeps.

There really should be a game convention here, or maybe a serie of speeches about the java gaming posibilities on the campus party.

Berlin, Germany as well.. but i'm living in Shanghai for almost two years by now. But don't call me a Chinese yet, I still drink beer and hate leather pants (greetings to my Bavarian colleague above)  Grin

There are quite a lot companies in Shanghai that do games. But please dont ask me for names.

btw, i'm an exchange student at the Jiao Tong Univ. and some of my classmates work in their free time (a luxury they actually don't possess) as part time developers and designers. They are pretty good! If somebody's interested, I can arrange something Smiley

Dallas, TX. I am fairly close to several game companies. Hopefully, one of the companies will hire me when I graduate from the University of Texas At Dallas. I probably will because of my connection with SGDA (Student Game Development Association).

As to java game dev, until Rockstar North starts developing GTA for phones, there doesn't seem to be much.

Ha ha I'm another one from Edinburgh, Scotland. I've got a loose connection with someone at Rockstar North in Leith and was told "If I can code that in C++, get in here for an interview!" Shame then that C++ has been relegated from my primary language to my secondary one. It's Java all the way now.
