Java games rock!

« Posted 2004-11-18 16:59:48 »

Hi

After recently being put off the idea of learning to make games for a living (see my post from about a week ago), I'm now wondering if anyone knows about 'Edutainment'. I was thinking of doing my dissertation for uni on this, but changed my mind at the last minute. Basically, its educational games for school kids.

This looks extremely appealing, for its the kind of programming I would enjoy doing. Does anyone know any good links about this, or have any knowledge about this?

Thanks

Might be some pros to be found at the Indiegamer forums who may have done this. It's an attractive market for sure, being quite niche and not very exploited yet.

I've done some of this kind of work- if you can write a remotely interesting or modern game in an educational field you will be so far ahead of the competition it is extraordinary.

Most of the work that Ihave done is flash or web-based, but I'm sure that if you looked through some standard syllabus stuff in pretty much any subject you could find things that could be used as a basis for games.

Add your game by posting it in the WIP section,
or publish it in Showcase.
