This should have been posted in the newless clubies section. Anyway how you get started depends on how much Java you know.

If you know the basics of Java you could check out Kevin Glass tutorial http://www.cokeandcode.com/index.php?page=resources

Otherwise you'd probably be better off starting with Suns Java tutorials http://java.sun.com/learning/new2java/index.html.
