Java games rock!

« Posted 2004-10-10 10:18:47 »

Hi

I wonder if I can send game directly to user's mobile phone.

I don't want the user to request the game through WAP.

Is it possible? Can someone redirect me to documentation regard this issue?

Thanks

The closest you can get to that is sending a WAP-Push SMS message to the user, with a link to the jad (network operators are beginning to use this technique a lot to push ringtones). The user receives this message, and by pressing OK the browser should open automatically and go to the link you provided.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, can you please give me an example how to do so, or better an article where I can learn more about this.

Thanks

Do some research on OTA - Over the Air deployment.

Actually I'd google up "WAP Push SMS messages":
http://www.google.com/search?q=wap+push+sms+messages&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

Right, I misunderstood that  :P
But anyway you would need OTA knowledge for the link on the message, right? Or am I just confusing myself here ???

Yes you would. It's just not what he asked about.

Cheers anyways,
