falling into the abyss of reality

Its a mystery to me :S

Out of the 30+ vodafone phones I have worked with, i've yet to find a single 1 that has a usable menu interface.
Not only is it the most illogical layout imaginable, but every single phone is different to the next?!?!

I plead to ppl, NEVER BUY VODAFONE!

The same goes O2 too, they're interface is just as unintuitive =/

Isn't the interface down to the phone manufactuer not the network?

Not necessarilly. Network operators often customize the interfaces for the phones they sell. The basic look and feel is up to the manufacturer, but the actual menu system can be changed per network.

Every telco I've worked with has changed the standard menu in some way.  Vodafone's is particularly borked, I have to agree.  I mean the Sony Ericsson phones generally have a quite useable menuing system, but some bizarre perversity in Vodafone seems to make it a commercial necessity to screw it up  (however, knowing what I know about them, this surprises me not at all  :-/ ).
