Ok, ok.. so where do I find a games programming job near Bristol...

Kev

Job? JOB ?!? (c.f. previous comment Grin).

Oh, OK. You *do* need money. Well, you've now worked on a game with me, so you're allowed to do what almost everyone who's ever worked at Grex has done - go and get a job with Sony (only one person has bucked the trend so far...). There are studios in London, Liverpool, and Cambridge - although I don't think any ex-Grex people have worked at the Liverpool studio (yet).

Or bide your time, finish a few games, publish on JGF, and...

malloc will be first against the wall when the revolution comes...

Giving Java a second chance after ludumdare fiasco

Motivation.  Personally, I go through phases of intense coding then nothing for a couple of months.  I've found that short interesting projects are much easier to motivate myself to complet than larger projects.

The urge to procrastinate.

Nup, never do that. But somehow, just before I start coding I usually have a new OS patch to download, or a bit more fiddling with the design, or some documentation that needs tightening up.

How come nobody mentioned documentation (or is that something we game programmers aren't supposed to worry about  Wink )
