Some threads, as threads are wont to do, end up diverting substantially from the topic of Java gaming, and the site might benefit from a place where people can move these conversations to as they hit the borderline (so as to reduce the signal-to-noise for people who are looking for specific information). Overall, web communities also seem to benefit from having an area where people who have similar interests can discuss topics that aren't related to the more narrow purpose of the BBS. While there are plenty of places that the members of this BBS *could* go to talk about other stuff, everyone happens to be here and it could improve the atmosphere. A seperate forum would allow those who aren't interested in that sort of thing to avoid it altogether as well.
