Anyone knows if it is possible to play music on good ol' S30 and S40 MIDP 1.0?
Nokia's specific API?

Huh

U have to use Nokia API, it can play wav and tone sequence what u can make with Nokia Developer Suite, but i think only tone work at s40, at least at nokia 6100.

Yup, WAVs only work on the 7650.
There are some Series 40 devices that MMAPI though, like the 3300.

I seems like the NDA can only convert one MIDI channel at a time.  Does it mean I cannot play all my MIDI channels "at once" ?

THanks...

Indeed. Nokia's Sound API only play monophonic tunes.

So even if the particular S40 phone support poly tones, I still can only play 1 tone (1 midi channel) at a time?

Some phones say they support MIDI, but how does one go about playing a midi file using Nokia UI api?

Huh

It's only possible on devices that have MMAPI (like the 3300 for instance). The Nokia Sound class only plays monophonic tunes, and WAVs on the 7650.
