Press says that LG is based on Java3D. The source of LG shows a package like

org.jdesktop.lg3d.sg

which looks very familiar to Java3D coders. Otoh, internally looks quite different.

Whats going on there?

i thought LookGlass was some 3d desktop AWT.
maybe u can now set the mask of a window (so they are not just
square rects) - about time. if u can set a mask then u may as well
animate the mask..  so spinning mask animations shouldnt be a
big shock. taking the mask from a 3d alpha shouldnt be to nasty.

but i could be wrong. it dont seem like a big deal- putting
infomation on what looks like the back of a Frame by
spinning it around.

i'm sure i have some nolonger working code around here
that does that on MacOS9. pritty sure LookingGlass wont come
to MacOSX for a day and an age Smiley - forever hopeful mind.

Paul was so kind to answer that question on the Java3D forum on java.net:

well looks like its just 3d desktop stuff. not sure im fully
down with that idea. but hay cool anyways. i cant play with
it because its only out on Linux it seems.

would be nice to set the mask of a window. so if its has
to be 3d to do that whatever Wink
