I plan to use JOrbis to decompress my .oggs and just plonk the data in a buffer.

If I were playing something bigger than, say, 256k I'd probably have to figure out some way to sequence the buffers (it's built into OpenAL but I haven't looked at how Jorbis decompresses streams yet) but I'm not having music in XAP so I've not investigated.

In my game I'll also use JOrbis and OpenAL, also for music. So far, no probs.

I'm currently replacing JavaLayer (high performance MP3 output using the JavaSound SPI  Wink ) with JOrbis since the potential exists that I would need to pay license fees to encode music as MP3 in the future.

She builds, she builds oh man
When she links, she links I go crazy
Cause she looks like good code but she's really a hack
I think I'll run upstairs and grab a snack!

XAP hasn't got a website yet Chman - all there is is the diary (shortly to resume) in Volunteer Projects here. We're about to call it Alien Flux too because XAP seems to be some weird GNU thing or other these days.

Chaz might get a website up shortly - depends on whether we're going to be at GDC or not Tongue
