This really isn't a Java Game Players forum, its a game developers forum.  You are likely to have much more luck with Yahoo specific problems at Yahoos games forums and/or support forums.

Everyone here will tell you the first thing you shoud do is ditch IE and get another browser (Mozilla, Netscape etc.)  If you MUST use IE you should still go to java.com and download a REAL Java JRE.  The thing built into IE is NOT Java but an only semi-compatable thing called MSVM.

Given our general attitude around here in regards to the particular abomination I doubt anyone is motivated to help you to use it.  Not that such user questions are really what we do here anyway.

Regards

Jeff K.

A bit harsh, Jeff? Grin

If you're happy with IE, use it.  However, as Jeff says there are browsers out there that are much more powerful, like Mozilla 1.6, Firefox 0.8 and Opera 7.23.  You might find one of those better than IE overall, but you shouldn't feel obliged to switch.

However, getting the latest Java is easy: visit Java.com and click the Get It Now button in the top right.  Follow the instructions, then give Yahoo Games another try.

If this doesn't work, it's likely that Java isn't your problem.  Check the Yahoo Games help pages instead.

Easier yet, Opera has an install that includes the Java VM, so you only need to bother with one download and install Smiley

Yea... don't feel obligated to switch... browser hijacking and trojans are alot of fun and a very important part of MS' version of the internet. Also Mozilla, Firefox and Opera aren't compatible to the well defined exploit standard for resouce trashing webbrowsers. Where is the comfort if you can't open your CD rom, format your harddisk, install a keylogger or change your network settings from a webpage (without any annyoing user interaction)?

Firefox is really nice and only ~6.2mb. Give it a try. It's free Smiley
