This isn't really a grass texture. All I see is a bunch of incoherent green dots.

I don't really like this grass texture. All I see is a bunch of incoherent green dots.

I second this. I think it looks like green Perlin noise.

Looks ok on my tablet.

Maybe fill it with a light green and draw in little patches of grass with a darker green. Then add some slight noise in the background. Otherwise it just looks like noise, which is a bit unappealing to the eye when tiled.

Also: give yourself more pixels to work with. It seems more complex at first, but I promise you won't regret it. You can fit so much more detail into each tile.

I think it is missing hardness. Try bolstering in some lines or something.

It's kind of old now (about three or four months I'd say) so I think I'll just redo it entirely whenever I have time Pointing

Or we could not worry about it and just let the content flow so long as it's not a blatant disregard of the rules!

Who needs a grass texture anyway? I just fill the screen with 1 color.  Smiley

How about this? Took me 3 minutes to draw (using calligraphy tool) in InkScape.

That's just a few irregular strokes with mouse, and applied gradient to it, with less opacity on one end.

Does the tile repeat..? It's no good if it doesn't haha.

Yes it does repeat, I've shown you a very large zoomed version. Here's how it looks when tiled.

It looks weird at the edges but if that is taken care of, it looks pretty good I think.

If you can visibly see the border, it doesn't tile well. Maybe redraw it in tiled mode, where the canvas repeats while you draw (not sure if you have that in inkscape).

What? The edges don't look weird at all, what are you talking about? Your tiles are perfectly usable Roll Eyes
