So, Legends of Yore 2 was going to be based on Legends of Fore engine. However, that got too big for me to deal with, so I took the bits I could do in isolation and started on Quests of Yore - which will hopefully in turn grow out into the other ones.

Quests of Yore puts you in control of four heroes, a Warrior, a Dwarf, an Archer and a Wizard. It's a turned based adventure game based on a classic board game that I better not mention.

It'll be available on Android, iOS, HTML5 and desktop. The intention is that the first quest pack will be free and then small priced additional packs of quests via IAP.

So far, you can play a single quest in which you must kill the gargoyle and escape. I'm about two weeks in.

You can play on the web here (chrome is your best bet):

TODO:
  • Buying weapons
  • Saving games
  • Magic combat rules
  • Skills
  • More Items
  • More monsters
  • More quests

Feedback appreciated, hopefully have the more quests in the new few days.

Cheers,

Kev

I like it a lot! Very nice graphics and I really enjoyed the gameplay! (I'm a huge turn based strategy fan)

Hi Kev,

i've found a little bug: its possible to open the first room (the one to the right from the starting-room) from the outside.

This does not display the room nor the monsters inside, but you can move a character into the room and even fetch the gold. The room keeps dark, and the monsters (which i know, that they are there, lurking in the dark, ready to deal deadly attacks on you, once you turn the light on... persecutioncomplex ) wont do anything. Grin

Very nice game, btw...

edit: you have to walk past the door with the dwarf (using all of its movement) then the field in front of the door is highlighted with a blue rectangle, when you click it, the dwarf doesn't move and the door is opened.

This even works on the next room, but there, the room is rendered... strange.

Finally got a few hours to update, just trying a new control system for moving multiple units.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1668516/games/quests/index.html

Let me know what you think, select the same unit twice to select the group. Group can move and open, if you attack it'll go back to strategy mode.

Cheers,

Kev

Yes! The group movement really adds to enjoying the gameplay. Last time I played I remember having to move every unit individually when walking a longer time. Very cool Smiley (Btw, love the pixel art)
