Interesting video about a man's "13 year" development cycle story and the DO NOTs of game design. I think this could be a nice watch for some of us hopeful indie developers wanting to make games. http://www.youtube.com/v/2b0tSu0QDQ0?version=3&hl=en_US&start=
To be honest though; my personal gut-feeling based opinion though is if the guy took 13 years to make a basic 2d puzzle-platformer, he was probably "going it wrong", either not really taking the project seriously or lacking the maturity or cognitive abilities to do such a task effectively. Of course, he indirectly admits that in the video. I just think it was far worse than what he admits.
That or in his 13 years of development he took several 6 months+ breaks and still bunched it all together at 13 years of development. But, that's just my pessimistic outlook on the story-behind-the-story. I may be wrong.
