Spent this morning setting up an external GPU for my macbook pro. Using a GTX 960 connected by a thunderbolt cable I went from 40 fps to 200 fps in my java fps engine! Smiley

This is going to be quite useful when I am out of the country for two months.

Got this in the mail today and just finished solving it! It took a good hour or two, was a lot of fun. As with the 7x7 and gigaminx, I'm sure my solve time will be halved the next time. Something about the first solve seems to take a very long time even when it's just a larger version of another puzzle.

How many of such cubes would you solve for me if I paid you $0.02 an hour?

Started experimenting with android again after the last attempt failed. Now I understood how to change orientation programmatically, and also initialization of a OpenGL ES 3.0 context. Working pretty good on my One Plus X.

Routed the arcade cabinet's wood for T-molding.  I got the t-molding here:  https://www.t-molding.com/
Next step is painting!  I made a crappy picture of what the cabinet will look like when its done...the game on the screen is Dodger Dog.

Did a little experiment and compared few different implementations of pseudo random number generators, for example above you see path drawn with Java built-in generator.

UPDATE: I added possibility to see a path being drawn in real time, few iterations every frame... This is really hypnotizing. Cheesy

I changed my work (well, area of responsibility, same employer) three weeks ago and while I really like where I am now, I have no personal time anymore (7:30 - 16:45, but actually open ended).
Guess I have to find a better work / leisure balance...

Hey everyone!! Today I implemented something I've been putting off for YEARS and holy Jesus I could not be happier that I finally put it in. It was easier than I was expecting and looks so stinkin' good in the game. Basically,

While experimenting with the WebAudio API, I made a little toy that'll play a sound when you type. Press 1, 2, 3 and 4 to change the octave.

If this thread was thrown into the Chitchat monster right now, it would take 310,752 hours to destroy completely.

310,752 hours is 12,948 days.
12,948 days is ~432 months.
432 months is 36 years.

Got the basic Android port of SilenceEngine to work with OpenGL ES.

You can see the same test running on Chrome (HTML5), Windows (LWJGL 3) and Android at the same time. Still got to implement input APIs and Audio support.

Started (for the third time) switching to Android Studio on thursday night with some success (had always some problems with some dependencies and gradle) and went to London on friday for a city trip - got home yesterday at almost midnight and fixed all my open Android Studio related issues today --> now I'm back on track with my project  Grin
