I've been working for about two years on a game in Java---it's a platformer/shmup, and it has a level editor that allows users to build their own levels with their own graphics and music.  And it's far enough along in development so that I'd like to find somewhere to upload it---and I don't know whether this site is a good choice or not, or where to put it if it is.  The game itself is going to be an executable JAR file that I'd like to allow anyone to download to try it and the editor out.

This game is more or less a work-in-progress; you see, I'd someday (maybe someday soon!) like to start a collaboration with artists, composers, level designers, other developers, etc. and make it into something more than it is now---at the moment, the game is pretty bare-bones and doesn't have a lot of features (no dialog/quest system, no inventory, etc).  On the other hand, I don't know how soon I can or will start that collaboration, and the game as it is now is meant to be enjoyable and has a pretty much complete and understandable plot to it.

I should probably say here that it is (a) a brony game, and (b) it's technically legal because partway through development, I changed it to be a parody.  If, for whatever reason, you don't want games like that here, or if java-gaming.org generally isn't a place to post these kinds of games, then please refer to me some place where I can upload the JAR file for anyone to download and play.

This is a forum, not a place to host your game. You can certainly post a link to your game in the WIP board or showcase, but you'll have to host it somewhere else.

You can use dropbox or google pages for a host, or game-specific hosts like Game Jolt (or Static Void Games, which I'm the creator of).

Add your game by posting it in the WIP section,
or publish it in Showcase.

The first screenshot will be displayed as a thumbnail.
