Coding in Style

I've recently got to connecting a wiimote to my PC, and wondered about using it for development.

I've looked into the different libraries available, but I'm not sure about them (I tend to distrust those who actively badmouth their competitors as part of their feature set).

So does anyone here have experience with any of the available libraries? Any advice?

In case anyone is wondering, I'd love to develop a sword fighting game in the vein of the Wii Sports Resort sword games, simple, quick, fun. I've tried the Dolphin emulation to try out the responsiveness of the controller and it kind of sucks, but the Wii Sports Resort game seems to be not very compatible with the emulator, so maybe that's it.
