I do gamez, yes!

Hi there!

This is a city-builder/rts I am currently working on called Society!

The purpose of the game is to control your people and help them build a tribe where everybody is happy.
It is a single player game where there is no enemy.
I like to play games like Age of Empires (AOE) all alone or with friendly AIs because what I enjoy the most is the whole resource gathering and bulding.

The games focus is on the people and unlike AOE every person is valuable and the loss of a person can rock the whole economy of the tribe.
Making a new person should be time and resource consuming just like in real life (pregnancy kind of).

Also there is only one type of unit and every unit can do everything, with practice!
I plan to have a dynamic learning system where a unit becomes better at a task every time he does it.
This dynamic learning should then be tied together with the tech tree of the game, meaning that you have to have a unit become an expert on a topic before new knowledge can be created in that topic.

But at the moment the game is barely playable so let us see how it goes!
I am fairly experienced in programming but it is still only a hobby to me, so I am not that great.

I will also be doing all the artwork myself. Hence the really crappy graphics Tongue
I hope to become better at drawing as the development progresses.

The game is made using LWJGL and Slick2D, but I would like to get rid of Slick2D at some point.
I don't like not having control over the gameloop, and I am barely using any of Slick's functions.

Please note that this game is very early on in it's development so there is no need to adress all the bugs to me Tongue

Cool idea! It would be really interesting if you do flesh it out and finish it! I would absolutely love a game like this for my phone, it would be a good game to keep coming back to. There are a lot of AOE type games on the app stores, but it seems like they are really pushy and want you to spend hours upon hours playing them which ultimately drives me away from them. I would really like a game with this style where I don't have to pour hours into the game, if you know what I mean.
