Hi to everyone.
I'dl like to know what do you consider exciting about rougelike as gameplay elements as genre (permadeath, dungeons generation and so on..)

Building a good equipment set. I.e. combine items to have a set of mximum effciency for my chosen playstyle (which depends on character and class).

Having many strategic options and also a lot of possible game situations is in my opinion what makes makes rougelikes interesting and replayable.

Knowing that any misstep will result in a restart, tension is always high and victory is always exciting. Also, a good rougelike doesn't kill you in BS ways, if you die it's your fault.

Lots of depth and content, but not overwhelming. If it is overwhelming, it's usually not very fun for a beginner.

And spelling roguelike correctly is always a good start.
