It would be great to increase the default value of "Max Age since last post" from 7 days to something bigger. I can imagine that people often forget to increase this value when searching forums and then, when pointed to the older topic, complain that they were searching forum before starting new post, but found nothing. This default value can be one of reasons for that - several times I was searching for my older posts and on a first try I got no results just because of forget to increase Max Age [OK, in this case I knew that I am using right keywords, but people who don't know if there is some info this will indicate "no info there"].

Being at that: increasing the "View the 10 most recent posts of this forum" number to a much higher value would be very good, too, because the e-mail notification still doesn't work usually. :-(

Here's why.  The resources that the search requires of the server due to the format of the data is significant.  To keep the load down so there arent many "resource exceeded" messages, is the reason for the 7 day default.  That and the linking scripts are set to default at 7.

With regard to the mailing list....... Embarrassed
