I don't think I've come across a standard what-game-are-you-playing thread around these parts, so here's one.

Although come to think of it... do you guys still play video games? Or do you just constantly develop video games, barely playing anything anymore?

My playing time has definitely dipped since I started learning how to develop video games, but I still do a significant bit of gaming.

I've still recently been playing quite a bit of DotA 2.

I finally beat Mom in Binding of Isaac, after what - like - 50+ tries?

And I already just tried a handful of demos last week:

- Gunpoint (although I can't see what the fuss is all about judging from the demo)
- Sanctum 2 (FPS + Tower Defense and better than Orcs Must Die! --- my kindda game)
- Sword of the Stars: The Pit (very intriguing. I like the look and how the game feels so far, although I haven't really sunk my teeth into the game yet)

Also been playing A LOT of platformers sporadically over the past couple of weeks: Thomas Was Alone, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Capsized, Cave Story+, Super Meat Boy, and a few others.

I've been playing Kerbal Space Program and Red Orchestra 2. Also been giving the latest Hitman a crack in my spare time.

I suck at MOBAs too, but I play DotA2 nonetheless Tongue I only know how to play, like, a handful of characters.

Also: jonjava just reminded me that I haven't played SC2 yet -_- gotta get my hands on that sometime soon.

Reus - which is an absolutely marvelous and relaxing god-sim game. I recommend this to everyone that can live without bullets, guns and profanity

OpenTTD - I finally learned to properly play this game after effing 15 or so years
Borderlands 2 - still play it but I'm on a break until the last DLC is released
Minecraft - it is my old love and with modloader + optifine + doku texture pack it is still a little gem
Rayman Origins - a truly excellent platformer, even on the PC. A bit weird, but great

You managed to reach mom more than 50 times already? I've never even managed to get that far :s My reaction time ain't that great anymore.

For a moment there I thought you and your mom competed to see who did better in the game.

As for me.... Bioshock. Hadn't played it yet.

The Last of Us. Obviously.

Haven't had a console since PS1, I'm watching a hilarious (still ongoing) LP of it instead. The attention to detail in the game is incredible.

I'm still finishing Bioshock Infinite but I just found a marvelous little skinner box game called Raft Pirates for android. Its really fun and if there are any fans of Extra Credits out there the game touches on a lot of issues they cover.

The game basically shows HOW you can do Game Design the right way. I mean, the setting is total serious and everything is pretty sad in this game, yet it manages to introduce some humor into the game (And I think this is very important. A good Story without humor can be very boring). Naughty Dog really tries to make something like a movie to play (but with good gameplay that makes you feel good if you master it).
For everyone that wishes to make games in big companies (and wants to be a game designer), Uncharted and The Last of Us are Game you need to play, or at least (like you) watch them via a LP.

I have bought so many games recently -.-
Every game that I own was boring. So I had to buy new ones Smiley
Ended up with 3$ on my account after a month of buying and playing halfway thourgh the games I bought :/

List of games I bought in 5months:

L.A Noire
Borderlands 2
Saints Row: The Third
Bioshock Infinite
Darksiders 2
Age of Empired 2: HD Edition
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Audio Surf
Dishonored
Waves
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Super Hexagon

Games I played "regulary" during that period:

Heroes of Newerth
Natural Selection 2
Dota 2
Starcraft 2
Diablo 3

I havent played any of the games i bought for more than 10hours.. Im so damn stupid..

Fallout: New Vegas

A tip from someone who has gone through the pain: use at least 4 different saves. You'll thank me for it later because this game WILL eat your save if you play for long enough. And I'm talking about a mod-free install too.
