Any idea how to create these effects in Java?

What is the technique name for doing those abstract background videos?

Thanks!

i always wanted to do something like that in Java, but never had the time to try, anyway, i think most of them are using particle system mixed with image effects (blur, contrast, etc ... )

Those aren't particles, pretty sure they are exactly what they are called - videos, or even gifs. If you don't need to dynamically modify particles or anything, and just need it as background, use a .gif or YUNPM.
