Easy theme.

Theme seems simple enough to fix something in a few hours

I shall accept this challenge.

Just thought I'd make a quick post of where I'm at for this LD.
I'm having to enter the jam as I have a friend doing arty stuff for me, and we're progressing along quite well.

We decided interpret the theme in the setting: a submarine. Submarines are built to be quite minimalistic as they need to be compact yet functional. Basically the premise of the game is that you have to single handedly fix a sinking submarine, namely three components of: The fuel, the battery and the engine, even while they continue to break. There's very little gameplay(you might even say... MINIMALISTIC Grin), but what you have to do is rather hard.

Looks really nice! Somehow that old school graphics makes me think of the Sierra game "Codename: Iceman" (yes. I´m that old). And a simple mechanic can still make a great game. I´m looking forward to try it out!

@Uprightpath
You may want to edit the "windows" link title since non-windows users will fly away right after see that before notice the lwjgl icon Grin

Soo it gives the error:

Error: Unable to access jarfile pathToFile/game.jar

Getting a project done is by far the most hard thing in game development.

Ugh, I procrastinated all day yesterday by watching Doctor Who and ended up not being able to finish :/
It plays, but it's not right. No horizontal scrolling or anything :/

I left 1 hour before it started. Cry
I got back 3 hours after the jam ended. Cry

I find the theme was Minimalism. Cranky

I'm glad I had an excuse no to compete. Undecided

So we finished our jam entry 1 hour before the deadline...

Imbarinth

You are a dot in a shifting and changing labyrinth which pulsates colorfully to the music.
Your aim is to reach the goal tile marked with a different color and a sparkling orb.
Try not go get pushed out of the labyrinth (or you lose).

Well I made something in the end using Java 2d which is game-y for the Jam:

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-26/?action=preview&uid=19350

Is it hard to port to libgdx and make an android port?

From all the good responses to my game so far, almost all comments say "great concept", soon I may actually add more features to the game.

Probably add particle effects to the jetpack (not sure what else other then jetpack could do with particles).
Redo the Tone Tiles sound, so it is a bit easier to differentiate the sounds.
Multi Tone doors.
Make the player spawn closer to the door in each level, some did not like the repetitiveness of having to move to the door, then move all the way back through the level to find the tone (later levels, you do spawn near a door)
