The Witcher was and is a fantastic game. Absolutely amazing. Europe I believe. Although many hate it, the first Fable was brilliant. Sadly, they did not do so well with the rest. Many very good stylized games come from across the seas from where I am from. US has primarily action shooter type of games which kinda suck or have been done a billion times. I guess we have Halo. Only fps I ever REALLY got into. I am also talking last 5-8 years. I guess Blizzard would be US but they have been super pissing me off. Then there is BioWare which is shit.

Hey dog I heard you like DLCs, so I got you a DLC for your DLC that needs a DLC to purchase the DLC for 16000 MS points. I hate that shit. Give me the whole damn game.

Seems like many great games are moving into mmos. Loved the first and second NWN and now we get some crappy action mmo. Loved TES and now we get some MMO. Not sure if it will be crappy. Can't wait for a DA mmo and a ME mmo. And what is the big deal with facebook integration crap? Who gives two shits about your damn achievements. I don't want to know when you get the "Hurtz So Gud" badge. I guess I am more mid school liking classic rpg styles more.

We need taxes but one wonders where we draw the line at. 50% income taken away for what? I thought most countries in Europe did not spend that much on military? I think UK still spends a chuck but damn. What do they do with it? What does the US do with it? It like they are competing for who can spend the most money they don't have.

Guess US wins.  Grin

Value added tax is my huge pet-peve.  Most unfair thing on the planet.  Second is estate taxes (well all multiple taxations).  I love looking at (say) my electric bill and seeing tax #1, which is added to the base amount and that total is used to compute tax #2...awesome!  WRT: Tax caps?  You nuts?  At one point in recent history in one of the Scandinavian countries it was possible to go over 100% taxation.  France has the fantastic "wealth tax", which if you're net worth is over X amount you get taxed some amount based on your paper net-worth (including you know stuff like toilet paper you have, charcoal in the garage.)  What the problem you say?  As an example is some area that suddenly becomes popular for secondary homes...housing values skyrocket and the poor people (say fisherman) originally from the area how have a large paper net worth.  Too bad.  Oh and of course this tax is yearly.

Just keep in mind that all that wasted money is flowing back into the economy, so it's not a 100% loss. I'm all for government overspending, as long as they spend it on me. Smiley persecutioncomplex

I wonder what would happen if all those billions of taxpayer's euro's and pounds would be spent on reducing Java and LibGDX size. I mean, then we might even get it to a download size of 4MB!!!

But them's military billions, which means we'd end up doubling the download size, and it would only be operational on 4 days of the year!  Grin

Laudable and noble goals, however I believe you have them prioritized in reverse order.

Not really, he will make sandwiches first (then coffee (then world peace)) because drinking coffee on empty stomach is nay.

Anyway: current perceived wisdom on taxation is that zero corporation tax is what is needed to make taxation simpler and fairer, and all tax is instead invididual tax.

I think the other way around would be better, since individual taxes would further increase relative costs of employment (or reducing net salary of individuals - especially the not-so-well-educated parts of the society). This would lead to more outsourcing or automatisation where possible, which would lead to higher unemployment rates and a wider gap between the rich and the poor - which would lead to instability in the society, revolution, chaos, anarchy, killing kittens, you name it...

Furthermore I hate taxes anyway D:
Taxes take a chunk out of your monthly gain, but without them, your government couldn't afford to invest in health care, roads, pensions, and a whole lot of other services and infrastructure that you use. Without taxes, you would have to pay a lot of money for various insurances, even more than you already do. I consider taxes the least evil alternative there is.
I used to believe that, but more and more I think my wage is cut in half (France, I confirm) not for the good of the community, but to re-fill the banks so they can invest like crazy and make even bigger profits while we pay their debts.
Yes, that is true to some extent, and I think it is important that voters oppose this. Banks in general disgust me.
